6. How to Use Guide for the Control Window for Encrypted Folder?

When an encrypted folder is opened, the software will launch a control window for this folder. With this control window, you can restore the opened folder to the encrypted state when you need to do it.

This window is minimized by default. It is only displayed as a green icon of this program (see the picture below) in the system tray (system tray is where system time is displayed on the Task Bar).

Q1. What is Auto-Close?

The default operation for an open folder is to close it automatically. That is, when the program detects (automatically) that you no longer need to use this folder, the control window will restore the folder to the encrypted state automatically.

Q2. How can the program know I am not using this folder??

The criteria that you do not need to use this folder: You have closed the My Computer or Windows Explorer window where the contents of the folder are displayed, and no files in this folder are in use. With the criteria met, the software believes the folder can be safely restored to the encrypted state.

Q3. I do not need Auto-Close. I want to do it manually. How can I do this?

If you do not want Auto-Close, but want to close the folder manually, you can click on the green icon to bring up the control window and click the check box before "Folder auto-close" to cancel this option, or you can right-click on the icon and select Disable Auto-Close from the menu that pops up.

Q4. If Auto-Close is canceled, how can I resume it?

If you have canceled Auto-Close, and want to resume it later, you can click the green icon to bring up the control window, and click the check box before "Folder auto-close" to select this option, or you can right-click on the icon and select Enable Auto-Close from the menu that pops up.

Q5. How to close a folder manually?

If you need to restore a folder to the encrypted state, you can bring up the control window and click the Close Folder button, or right-click the green icon in the system tray and select Close Folder from the menu that pops up. You can also double-click the green icon in the system tray to close the folder directly.

ATTENTION: Do not use the files in the folder when you close the folder manually.

Q6. How to display the control window for an encrypted folder?

Click on the green icon. The folder control window is shown below.

Q7. After a folder is opened, I want to decrypt it or remove disguise from it. How can I do this?

If you do not want the folder to be restored to the encrypted or disguised state, you can click Decrypt Folder or Remove Disguise in the control window or in the pop-up menu, so this folder will simply be decrypted or its disguise will be removed permanently, and the state will not be restored.

Other Notes:

If you are prompted with this when you close a folder: There is a file in use or an error of code 5 occurred - it means you are using this file in the folder and the program has not properly closed this file. In this case, click Decrypt Folder in the control window or in the menu that pops up, and restart the system and then encrypt the folder again.
